Why ?
Reducing poverty by half by 2015. It sounded good in 2000. We
are now over halfway, so it is a good time for reflection.
According to the UN progress is still insufficient,
BUT achieving the Millennium Development Goals is still
possible. However, there is lots of work to do and time is running
out. It also appears that many people do not (really) know
what the Millennium Development Goals are. Instead of attributing
this to a lack of interest, we recognise that good information on
this subject is essential for creating a broad
support base for the MDGs.
It is in this context that this project has been set up: to
contribute to achieving the MDGs by offering young people and their
teachers more and better information and training regarding the
MDGs.
The more people that know what the MDGs are, the more they
will reflect about it and the more pressure they can exercise on
their environment and their politicians to realise the 8 promises
by 2015!
