Yorshire schools slum it
Students from Hemsworth Community Arts College and Outwood Grange High school enjoyed building their own slum dwellings as part of learning about how 1 in 6 of the world live. Young people built their slum in small groups before writing to their MPs, asking what they are doing to ensure MDG goal 7 is being fulfilled.
"We enjoyed the practical work (of building the slums) and learning the facts about children and families in other countries that were poor." Hemsworth student on the Slumdog Survivor workshop.
